As part of our ongoing commitment to responsible manufacturing, in association with our ISO 14001 certification, we have set the following goals for 2025:

  • Purchase 100% Renewable Energy
  • Further Improve Indoor Air Quality in our Facility
  • Track Water Usage and Reduce Consumption
  • Implement a Responsible Purchasing Program

We also became Responsible Jewelry Council members in 2024 and will achieve fully audited certification in 2025. In another initiative, we continue to look for an alternative to the plastic bags we use for shipping castings but have yet to find a transparent yet durable solution. We would love to find a bioplastic or compostable solution, but for now we discovered that our bags are LDPE 4 and can be recycled.

In 2025 we will also continue to research, test, and implement the latest in 3D printing technology to support your Digital Manufacturing needs. The results of this work and other exciting product developments will be announced soon, so stay tuned!

Reflecting on 2024 Continuous Improvement

With 2024 behind us, it is time to celebrate our wins and accept our losses. This fall we mourned the death of our office dog Meera, a sassy chihuahua mix, who passed away at the venerable age of 16. The office is not the same without her prancing about!

But we had many wins as well . . .

In 2024 we executed a very unique and exciting platinum fine art project that will be going public soon. In December we started work on another extraordinary art piece, to be completed in 2025, that promises to knock your socks off. These projects are unrivaled in both scale and technical challenge, and we can’t wait to share them with you!

We were also busy tapping our industry resources and pouring our technical expertise into new R&D projects and product development. We dug deep into the metallurgy and will be rolling out exciting new offerings soon.

Along the way, we achieved our goal of reducing our energy consumption and calculated that we saved an average of 7% per month.

As part of our ongoing commitment to research and education, Sarah, VP, and Joel, Director of Manufacturing, published an article in MJSA outlining our research on 3D printers, pattern material, and related surface texture. We also spoke at AGS Conclave on the topic and participated in a deep dive on developing process controls for shops of all sizes through MJSA webinars.

We hired new employees and have a great crew. We focused on cross-training and safety in our workroom. Our team is small but mighty, and we continue to meet the needs of our customers.
